THE TWO FRIENDS AND THE BEAR ( दोन मित्र आणि अस्वल)

 Two friend were travelling together through a wood , when suddenly     they came across a bear. The bear saw the travellers and rushed out upon them.

 

        One of the travellers was good at climbing trees. Without waiting for his friend , he caught hold of the branch of a nearbay tree , and hid himself among the leaves.  

  

        The other did not know what to do. He had heard that bear do not brother with dead animals.So he threw himself flat down upon the ground , with his face in the dust.

      The bear , coming up to him , put its muzzle close to his ear , and sniffed and sniffed . But the man lay very quietly on the ground and did not even  breathe .At last with a growl it shook its head and slouched off.

      Then the fellow in the tree came down to his comrade , and laughing,said , " What was it that Master Bruin whispered to you?" 

      "He told me, " said the other , "Never trust a friend who deserts you at a pinch . "

दोन मित्र एका लाकडातून प्रवास करीत होते, अचानक ते अस्वलाच्या अंगावर आले. अस्वलाने प्रवाश्यांना पाहिले आणि त्यांच्याकडे धावले.

 

         झाडावर चढण्यात एक प्रवासी चांगला होता. आपल्या मित्राची वाट न पाहता, त्याने जवळच्या झाडाची फांदी धरली आणि पाने मध्ये लपविला.

  

         दुसर्‍याला काय करावे हे माहित नव्हते. त्याने ऐकले आहे की अस्वल मेलेल्या प्राण्यांबरोबर भाऊ करीत नाही. म्हणून त्याने आपले तोंड जमिनीवर धरुन जमिनीवर खाली फेकले.

       अस्वल, त्याच्याकडे येऊन, त्याची थांबा त्याच्या कानाजवळ ठेवला आणि वास घेतला आणि वास घेतला. पण तो माणूस खूप शांतपणे जमिनीवर पडून राहिला आणि श्वासोच्छवासही घेतला नाही .एवढे संपत ते डोके हलवून खाली सरकले.

       मग झाडावरील तो सहकारी त्याच्या साथीदारांकडे खाली आला आणि हसत म्हणाला, "मास्टर ब्रुईन तुला काय बोलला?"

       "तो मला म्हणाला," दुसरा म्हणाला, "जो चुटकीसरडी तुरुंगात टाकतो त्या मित्रावर कधीही विश्वास ठेवू नकोस."
